A perfect do nothing day. Most people have no idea how to live like this, but we have perfected it. An hour of cycling, lunch, sunny beach, a sunset beach, and a channel run.
My Terratrike Rambler is getting a solid workout most every morning. The weather is perfect. Low 70’s and a breeze makes riding a simple pleasure. On the North Bank Trail…to the east, or to the west.
Then to the beach. I love red flag days! The surf is up, even the Grand Haven State Park is uncrowded, and the sounds are so relaxing. If we had stress in our lives, this would melt it away. Coming here already stress free it is almost otherworldly. Hours watching simple things. Birds. Waves. A mother’s love. A few kite surfers. People saying yes to beautiful lives.
Lunch from Lucy’s. Huge eight dollar sandwiches packed with meat and veggies. Enough for dinner too. Home for awhile. Catching up with the news that matters in the world… NFL cutdown day.
Off to North Beach for a sunset. Every sunset is different, and fantastic. For us tonight, the sun set right on top of a ship. Always something new.
As we continued to gaze out of the water, we realized our sunset ship was coming in. So off to the Fisherman’s Pier we went. On the north side of the Grand River. We waited in peace, the lights of the Grand Haven pier dancing before us.
And then, our ship came in! Always cool to watch.
What did you do yesterday? When was your last “do nothing” day? Were you able to enjoy it fully? Did you say… yes to life? Did you say… yes to heaven?
Our day was like this song. Hope yours was too. Or will be soon.
