Another row planted this spring. Soon, we will have a forever green wall, blocking out everything beyond our yard. Norway spruce, planted just in front of the eastern white pines. Joining their mature brothers and cousins to recreate a solid tree line.
Watering today, an unexpected benefit. Walking thru the narrow aisle, surrounded and embraced by the young trees, eight to fifteen feet high, others towering high above and close, roots beneath my feet… such a feeling of peace and joy.
Standing there silently. Then finally moving along, I thought of that song by Twenty One Pilots. A deep moving song that they end every concert with. A question unanswered.
