Another couple from our complex is building in Hathaway Lakes… just a few houses down from my daughter. They took our approach to design. Printed out 114 pages of options. Poured over each one choice. Researched options of moving walls, creating unique spaces, gathering ideas from visiting other models and online galleries.
The wife exclaimed, “Designing this house is like a full-time job!”
Exactly. That is my excuse for a dead stop on my writing. For over a month. I have been buried in this full time job. It’s not about picking out a few materials and colors. It’s flipping rooms, moving walls, adding fairly unique features. And then the tiny details. Hundreds of them. It became a full time job for over a month.
Well, that and continued beach trips. Because, after all, visiting a beach most every day is still a requirement of the good life on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Gazing out over the waters and reviewing our final choices, we agreed… we nailed this. Can’t think of a single thing we’d change.
