I advocate staying safe, following all of your state requirements. And where the state allows something science says is higher risk, be risk adverse, and stay safer than required. For instance… just because bars are allowed to reopen… stay away. But on the other hand, you have mask nazis that insist people laying on a beach, socially distant, should wear a damn mask. I have seen way too many women in bikinis wearing a silly mask. Come on! Shame-force citizens to do silly things and they might for awhile. Until finally, they break. They no longer do the insane, and don’t even do the safe anymore.
Another attack today from a sad mask nazi….
Nice Robot
The point of masks isn’t to protect you, it’s to protect everyone else, like my wife who has cancer and will almost certainly die if she gets covid. You can be an asymptomatic spreader. You’re incredibly selfish not to care about anyone’s health but your own.
So, I try again….
Sorry for your wife’s illness. I understand it can make you live in fear and less able to comprehend that you are part of the problem, not the solution. Fear mongering, trying to force other people into extremes not backed by science results in people finally getting tired of it all and revolting. Like dressing up a woman in a bikini and a stupid mask on a beach with no one within 10 feet of her. Till finally, she says “fuck it” and blows off steam in a crowded bar and spreads the virus wildly.
My response was to show that it is indeed possible to be safe, to care for the lives of others, and still have a life. A sustainable life in the continuing age of covid.
Sadly, many people cannot do what I do because they are trapped in crowded cities. If you are in a crowded city, then by all means, wear a mask EVERYWHERE. If you are living with an immune compromised person… wear a mask even indoors at home.
But, Nice Robot, since you un-nicely decided to call me “incredibly selfish”. I’ll call you incredibly stupid and a dumbass (just this once).
Maybe reread my post for comprehension. Nowhere was I not social distancing. Nowhere did I put others at risk. I am at beaches dozens, if not hundreds of feet away from others. We are at restaurants far, far, away from others and following all guidance. The one time I needed to wear a mask (getting a haircut) I did so, not for me, but for others.
I understand the non N95 masks are to protect others. I have read and comprehend the studies.
No, I have not been in a crowded bar.
No, I have not been working out in an enclosed building.
No, I have not been in an enclosed public place without a mask. Instead I have successfully avoided them.
In fact, I have followed ALL requirements by my state.
Also, perhaps read the studies on viral spread outdoors. One single viral particle is not going to infect you. In fact, research says it would take 10,000 to a million particles (we just don’t know precisely how much) to infect you with Covid-19.
It is all about viral load. Thus medical workers around covid patients wear masks and face shields. They are limiting the viral load, not eliminating it. Do you understand that an N95 mask is not an N100% mask? Do you think doctors that are being safe and wearing their PPE properly are inhaling ZERO particles?
The fucking fresh outside air, assuming social distancing, is safe. I may breathe in a stray covid virus particle from time to time on the beach. Far, far fewer than people in a grocery store with EVERYONE wearing masks.
I, am being safe. I, am encouraging others to be safe.
You, are fear mongering and trying to shame others. Others, that do care for people… rationally and responsibly.
Stay safe.
