Way back in October, when the leaves were still on the trees, I bought a Roborock S5 robot vacuum cleaner. Vacuuming was one of my few chores. Knowing that with a growing golden retriever puppy, I was going to need to vacuum every day, I decided to automate the process. After some research, I made my choice.
Since then, I have talked to several people who have robot vacuum cleaners and no longer use them. They would get stuck, they didn’t have great suction, they couldn’t handle going up on carpet from bare floor. Lots of reasons. Reasons I believed I would avoid by buying the Roborock.
I am happy to report, this robot is fantastic. It maps out your home, then learns and almost never gets stuck. Excellent suction. Can go from bare floor to thick carpet. Want to clean just one bad spot? Zone cleaning lets you draw a rectangle on the map of your home and off it goes, doing just that spot.
Love, love, love my robot. The amount of dog hair shed from my golden is incredible. But Mary Jane (yes, I named my robot), cleans as well as the Dyson I used to push around. I got mine for $399. There is a new model, but best I can tell, besides being more expensive, they are the almost identical.
Fun to go to the beach and have your entire home cleaned when you return.
Speaking of the beach… still no ice today. But there is some hope. We saw a little floating ice in the channel today, and, we have cold weather forecast for another few days.
