Last night I was hoping to use the long zoom camera to get a few pictures from the boardwalk. From there, the sun would be a huge, red orb behind the lighthouse. Instead, we had too many clouds. Oh well. Just an average sunset from a spectacular small beach town.
Lounging on a boardwalk bench with my wife and Shilo, we conversed with many a passerby. All so happy. People walking or running the boardwalk in the brisk air. The lake, river, boardwalk, sunset… all contribute to fantastic moods. And then add a puppy. Although Shilo has grown from less than 6 pounds to 25 pounds in just a few weeks, she is still a puppy. And puppies are people magnets.
Zooming in on the pier, the wild waves have disappeared. But the water level is so close to topping the pier. Such a surplus of beautiful, clean, freshwater. Lake Superior, Michigan, Huron all too high.
Stopping in at our favorite Thai restaurant (well, only one in town), I talked to a woman who had moved from San Diego to Grand Haven. She proclaimed her family would never leave. They have found their paradise here too.
