What to do on a beautiful Saturday when all the worker bees escape the office or factory for the day? A day with my wife, watching the wheels go round and round. No love at the state park, the massive lot completely full.
So no watching the pole vaulters on the beach today.
As we were driving by, we saw a guy gracefully clear this height, but alas missed the picture.
Plan B is always a great one living here. Over to our favorite brewhouse for a delicious lunch. Right on the channel, you can pull up to the dock and eat outside.
Or, in our case, indulge, then stroll out to the nearly empty boardwalk, relax on a bench and watch the boats go by.
Big boats, and medium boats like these…
… and even the little ones…
On the beach, in a boat, or just watching the world go by. I recalled this John Lennon song, the single released posthumously after his murder.
Doing what I’m doing
Well, they give me all kinds of warnings
To save me from ruin
When I say that I’m okay, well they look at me kinda strange
“Surely, you’re not happy now, you no longer play the game”
Dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice
Designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I’m doing fine watching shadows on the wall
“Don’t you miss the big time boy, you’re no longer on the ball?”
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go…
