Sun in our face, toes in the sand. Gorgeous, warm day enjoying our temporarily (almost) private beach. Tourists days away from arrival, locals working. As we arrived a few office drones were heading back to work after enjoying lunch on the beach. And then… the entire beach all to ourselves. This weekend, the beach should be hopping.
Higher water levels have eaten into the beach. Sharp drop-off into the water this year. Last years gentle dune drop (shown below) into the water is gone.
As we began to worry as to how much sun we had absorbed, a ship can be seen slowly approaching the Grand River harbor.
We packed up and caught the Canadian flagged Cuyahoga as it moved slowly down the channel. Always a sight to see a large ship entering the narrow channel. Fun, lazy life in our paradise.
