We wanted to slips away from the tourist traffic that builds every day in Grand Haven with the Coast Guard Festival, so we headed a bit north.
Enjoyed a late lunch at a place in Muskegon that my daughter recommended. Reminded me of a beach shack from years ago at Cocoa Beach, Florida. The crowd was just leaving as we arrived. By the time we left, the restaurant was nearly empty, so I clicked a couple of pictures.
I wish I could properly convey the feeling of relaxed joy, lunch on the beach, the sun, the breeze, the water, the food, with family.
As we watched a ship head out to open water, we discussed taking the ferry to Milwaukee and catching a Brewers game. My wife’s favorite player was traded this week from the Royals. The ferry leaves from this harbor and makes the 80+ mile trip in a bit over 2 hours.
Another day, another beach, in a state of almost limitless beaches… we have but scratched the surface.
