Boom goes the piano
Piano from the basement was heading to the landfill with the movers. Thought it would be a fairly easy task. Except they were one mover short, and the piano is a lot heavier than I estimated, and heavily weighted towards the backend, and slightly soft ground. Dolly wheels hit the soft earth, dolly wheels to the back sink, and… boom goes the piano.. or whatever sound a piano makes when it falls flat on it’s back. The last breath from our old piano was thunderous, my wife came running, the neighbor yelled, “Oh my Gawd they dropped your piano!”
And there it lays, waiting for the movers to return to our backyard and give it a proper burial Sunday, before the new owner’s walk thru of the house Monday before closing.
Our movers fought thru a lot of other obstacles on this move. A late night Friday, a long trip to Michigan Saturday, and they return to our old house on Sunday. But they delivered for us. We have our furniture unscathed in our new home in Grand Haven. The house will have our last traces gone on Sunday.
Sometimes it is not how smooth things go, but how you react to adversity. I rate our movers five stars.
