Visited three beaches and nothing unusual, just the calming influence of the blue water and waves. Then we come home to a white egret, right off our patio. It stayed for an hour, checking out the pond. My wife wanted to see it fly. She asked, “Should I go run up to it?”
Not sure she was serious, but I of course told her to leave the gentle bird alone.
Now I have one (r)egret. Sorry, couldn’t help it.
If she had startled the bird, it would have made for some good video… the bird in flight, or my wife in flight when the bird attacked. Yes, I later found out that they can attack when provoked..
