The wedding plans crystalized as the slow lake melt continued. A perfect new venue for the reception was revealed to my daughter and her fiancé. They locked it in, chose the cake, menu, and completed engagement photos. All while spending time with us visiting the lake. The wedding itself will be on the beach below, sugar sand and blue water replacing the dirty, sand ice.
Of course we made time for sampling Grand Haven cuisine, including a new restaurant right on the beach. Great views, huge windows that will open to the beach air this summer, plus a deck being built on the sand.
The food was… just ok. Hopefully they will up their game before the tourists descend. The french onion soup was even good. I always order the french onion soup at a new restaurant. This is the first time it has been presented with a steaming hot pastry shell on top.
