Of course we had to visit the beach today. The ice was back in full force. All the way to the horizon. Ice. Ice. More ice. The song title Ice Ice Baby entered my mind. Quickly replaced by Queen’s vastly superior Under Pressure from which Ice Ice Baby stole the famous bass line. Another ear worm, lyrics and music entering my brain.
No pressure here tho. Except in the ice pushed east to the shore. Life is easy. The stressful world far away. As I escaped the ear worm of the song, washed from my brain, there was something else that captured my attention. The eerie silence. No waves. No wind. No birds at that moment. Nothing.
Another moment to be enjoyed. Every day, the beach changes. In a few weeks, my wife and I will sit in the shade of that tree above. Coming in the morning before anyone else. Watching, listening, feeling, smelling… the joy of our beach.
