A beach wedding is in our family’s future as my oldest daughter is here this weekend making decisions. Today started with wedding dress shopping. There I was, rows and rows of wedding gowns, women everywhere. I did a quick headcount. Only two other males in the entire store… we were massively outnumbered… but at least I wasn’t alone. As my daughter waited for her bridal consultant, I strolled down an aisle and spotted a “new arrival”. “Oh, this looks nice,” I thought, and later pointed out to my daughter.
Watching the proceedings from a safe distance, as the initial flurry of potential dresses were evaluated, added and subtracted we were finally ready to sit down and get to business. “Any other’s that you saw?” the consultant inquired. I spoke up, they added “dad’s pick”.
So, guess which dress made my daughter cry?
I took pictures, but of course can’t publish one… has to be a surprise at the wedding. So the ring photo that my future son-in-law sent us before he proposed will have to be the visual aide for today.
“He’ll never let you forget that he found the dress.”
And why would I? Happy times!
