When we lived in Oregon, road trips up and down miles and miles of hills dominated by grape vines to reach new vineyards was always an easy pleasure. My wife and younger daughter even took a balloon journey over the Oregon wine country that they talk about still.
This week’s trip found us in Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City… prime Michigan wine country. We passed many an intriguing winery, only stopping at one.
Picked up a meager six bottles of wine, providing us the opportunity to return again soon to a land only briefly explored.
We knocked off two more lighthouses this week… oh, three counting the one on our hotel beach. And several new restaurants, and one new brew pub.
It is clear, that at this pace, it will take us years to visit every Michigan lighthouse, beach, vineyard, brew pub and deserving restaurant. But of course, it isn’t a race, at the risk of repeating myself….
Doin’ 15 in a 30, I ain’t in no hurry
I’mma take it slow just as fast as I can
