Powerfully peaceful
The fishermen’s pier was abandoned yesterday evening as the waves began to grow stronger, but still a beautiful relaxing evening.
Way out on the horizon we spied a large ship heading north. For the first time, we remembered to bring binoculars and were easily able to identify it as the Calumet… a 628 foot long freighter. This morning it was already up near the top of Lake Michigan. Ship watching, another fun thing to do on the lake. Now we are trying to determine when the next large ship will enter the Grand River channel…. will be such a sight to see.
