Close Encounters
Remember this blockbuster Steven Spielberg science fiction movie from the 1970’s? People from all walks of life were inexplicably drawn to one particular spot in the US. The aliens were coming! I had a flashback to this scene as my wife kept walking down the pier towards the lighthouse and setting sun over Lake Michigan. I was busy taking pictures trying to avoid the people walking and capture the sunset, but I missed the best shot. I should have gotten the scene of the humanity walking down the pier in a recreation of the above image. Next time!
Last night was our final sunset for a few weeks, on a different beach north of Grand Haven. And again I missed a cool shot… all the people drawn to the beach, in the wind and cold, mesmerized by a simple sunset.
