Costco… what will become of you?
What will we do about our favorite store in the world? Our current Costco is an hour and 15 minute drive away, but we make a pilgrimage there about twice a month. A beautiful clean store with everything you need, and so much you don’t… but buy anyway. And, it has covered, inside parking… one of only three Costco’s in the world to have it.
I haven’t been to a mall in many years. I haven’t been in a Target in over a year, or, a Wal-Mart for much longer. Costco and Amazon only. Or Rally House for Chiefs and Royals essentials. Oh, and the little speciality stores like the ones in downtown Grand Haven. Basically, Costco is the almost exclusive store where I buy things.
Yes, there will be a Costco in Michigan near us. But it won’t be the same. The cool gadgets that we may only use once, and then put away… we just won’t have the room. All the food we buy by the case and then store… we just won’t have the room. Plus, all summer and fall, we will be procuring our food fresh from the local markets.
We’ll still go to Costco I’m sure, but our spending will just be a shadow of our past.
