I am embarrassed.
I was talking to a co-worker in Puerto Rico… she still doesn’t have power. The hurricanes were months ago. I had assumed power had been restored. Maybe not in remote areas, but certainly where she lives. I was wrong. Then I googled … a million people still without power. A million of our fellow US citizens. I read about the reasons… the excuses. The excuses don’t matter. The most powerful nation the world has ever seen has failed.
The mainstream media has moved on. Our government has moved on. Tax reform is great. Worrying about North Korea is fine. But FIRST, get the power turned back on. Whatever it takes, no excuses.
Here I have been, blogging my countdown to a new career, a new life on the beach. Meanwhile, my coworkers in Puerto Rico, my fellow Americans, spend another night without power.
